Some not so good news from the other side of the pond with regard to webcasting royalty rates. A disregard for business models seem to have been the order of the day, as CRB sets per performance rates, resulting in the possible closure of numerous webcasters - As featured in RAIN
 
The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) has announced its decision on Internet radio royalty rates, rejecting all of the arguments made by Webcasters and instead adopting the "per play" rate proposal put forth by SoundExchange(a digital music fee collection body created by the RIAA).

Not sure if this service is available in the UK, but RAIN have reported on a new service by MP3tune, allowing unlimited personal music streaming.

Gaydar Co-founder Found Dead

Some sad news to report with the announcement of the death of Gaydar Radio co-founder, Gary Frisch. ASMeC would like pass on our best wishes to Gary's family and friends and the Gadyar team.
 
 The co-founder of Gaydar Radio, the digital station aimed at the gay market,  has been found dead at his London home. A spokesman for the station's owners, QSoft Consulting, said Gary Frisch had died unexpectedly following an "apparent accident or suicide". Police are still investigating his death.
